Krista came to me for her senior photos, and we had a blast together! Her friend and mom came along, and the four of us made some incredible images. Special thanks to her mom and friend for holding the reflector, and special thanks to Krista's amazing curls, providing me with endless creative opportunity. She is going to go far, I love working with happy people that love their family and enjoy life. Here are some of my favorite snippets!

Faith came to me to do Senior, SENIOR photos- aka: Senior in college photos. I absolutely love the idea of this. Everyone needs to remember their college years and how they looked in their early twenties, not just when they were 17-18! When you're young, your appearance changes quite rapidly, so those 4 years make quite the difference, and it's important to document that. A little something to add: all of her hair? It is REAL. So are her incredibly blue eyes. :) Here are some of my favorite 100% candid/natural shots.
Usually I'd never say having too much work is an issue, but it becomes one when you juggle 19 hours of college, a horse, and work! None-the-less, I adore what I do, and it keeps me sane.Work is actually my "downtime" from it all, you know? When I'm out shooting someone, it's just me and them making some magic and opening doors. Karissa, was a blast to work with. She is a music theatre gal, and needed some new headshots, so we went out and created some gorgeous ones! She was so bold in front of the camera and had the best, and truly most friend personality.
Rashawn came to me wanting photos of him and his adorable, adorable son. Not only were they fun to shoot, but his son was quite the dancer and LOVED when Rashawn let him play with the music on his iPhone!
Brian and Lindy Lindsey had such a BEAUTIFUL wedding, full of traditions, and fun. I adored getting to know this couple, and capture their big day!
Caitlin Olivia and Colleen came to me to take portraits of the three of them. They're high school graduates that are best friends, and sadly will be parting this year. One of them in OKC, one in New York, and the other in Chicago. All three girls were a blast to shoot and work with, each having their own unique style and personality that was so fun to capture! Here's a few shots.
Whew! So I just got back from an incredible and life changing experience of 4 weeks. I was a resident assistant for Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth in Maryland. Aside from being surrounded by ridiculously smart 5th-6th graders and a wonderful staff, the entire atmosphere and program in general was very refreshing. Although it is a 24/7 job the weeks I was there, it was still like a vacation in the sense that I was constantly surrounded by truly amazing youngsters. It made me so happy to see the leaders of our future generation and get to be such a large part of their lives as most of them have never been at a sleep away camp ever, or one that is as long or extensive as the program Johns Hopkins has. I went to the area early and spent a few days in D.C. first with my father, which was a blast, too! I took photos of some of my fellow staff members, so I'm going to share some of those now :) D.C. first... Here are some from Camp of my fellow co-workers!
Crystal and Clint found me through a friend, and we got together to take some engagement photos! Their Wedding is next summer, and I absolutely can't wait. Crystal has a million dollar smile and is such a beautiful and positive woman, I had so much fun getting to hear their story and getting to capture it. Clint has quite the sense of sarcasm and humor, and I love when clients are comfortable showing me that side. People always think photos have to be so serious, or they shield part of their personality thinking it's not something to bring to the photo shoot, when actually I want the opposite! The only thing that helps me make photos better, are people being themselves and trusting me with that. I know even I sometimes hide parts of my personality and shelter things around new people, so it's tough to expose that in front of new people, and especially a camera. I always appreciate a couple in love that shares that with me.
You know, I have to say one of my biggest pet peeves are all of those fashion photos with beautiful girls and horses... and the horses look bored, disinterested, and most of the time aren't posed well, or even that nice of horses. This of course is me being biased since I'm around Jumpers all the time and am used to the hot, energetic, tall, beautiful horses, but come on- if you are using a pretty girl use a pretty horse or get its attention at least! I had a lovely shoot with Miss Olivia, her mom wanted these shots. :)
I'm a little late posting these, they were done last week and I've done 3 shoots since, but I've been cramming these last few days before I leave. Kylie and Matthew Johnson are a sweet, married, military family, [Matthew is in the Navy, woo!] and they were at the time pregnant with their now newborn son, Gunner. First, I have to say I adore his name! It not only fits after meeting the couple, but when I was shooting with them one of Kylie's ultrasounds has a photo of Gunner kissing his guns [biceps ;) ] with his arm up in a flex position. It is the cutest photo ever and I thought it was just so sweet. This was actually my first maternity shoot, but after looking and studying maternity shoots I realized something- it's nothing different than any other shoot I do. They're normal people, and the beauty of the shoot is in the pregnancy and the love between her and Matthew that has created that. The best thing was to just talk to Matthew and Kylie and get to know them a bit as a couple, which I have to say, I adore them as one. I instantly could tell they were not only excited to bring a new life in this world, but truly a loving married couple, and that alone couldn't make me more proud or honored to take their photos. There's nothing more beautiful than two lovers that are truly ready to bring a life in this world, are prepared, and just calmly excited. Gunner was born not even a week after we took these pictures, and he seems like a good healthy baby :] Maybe newborn pictures to come in a month or so! Here are a few..
